Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone is aware of any particular considerations with regards trade waste associated with public swimming pools. Should they be consented and if so do any special conditions apply?
cheers

Hi Chris,
You'll need to consider the storage of chemicals, bunding, and spill response for these etc
Discharge of pool wastes/ backflow is to be discharged to sewer only (as we discharge our SW to lakes), you can set your allowable flow rate in this condition.
In ours we also ask them to be involved in our cleaner production programme due to their high water usage, any savings that can be made are good for them and us.
Hope this helps.

Hi folks - haven't broached this one yet, but would consider the discharge of this to be no different to any other - i.e. volumes may make it a Conditional discharge.
What views/experiences do others have in handling this sort of discharge from schools? Specifically where the discharge is Conditional. |

As per my previous post we set the same conditions - flow rates, chemical storage/ handling, spill response etc
The word "trade" seems to confuse people from schools/ marae etc so we use the term non-domestic premises when giving out application forms and when talking fees.
Meet with the schools' caretaker, these guys are a very handy contact to have, much better than the office people I've found. |
