Is there any independent advice on required strength of MDPE blue water pipe when it is to be thrusted? I have a low operating pressure system where thrusted pipe is needed and I am getting conflicting advice on the required mechanical stength.

Hi Steve

Darryl Mason from Tyco Flow Control (07) 9587100 should be able to help you, or Chris Duyvesten who I think is still based in Hastings. They were both with Prebensen's before they were bought out, and should be able to at least point you in the right direction.

Hi Steve,

This can be done however the amount of force applied to the pipe is dependant on the pipe OD and SDR. The resin used also should be considered if you are getting close to the pipes limits.
If you would like to email me the project details I will be happy to assist.
